Application of the ERASMUS+ project towards English teachers in practice

October 18th 2017 Mgr. Elena Kováčiková, PhD. from the department of Language Pedagogy and Intercultural Studies (KLIŠ), Faculty of Education, UKF in Nitra conducted a model class of music education in English in the 5th grade at the Škultétyho primary school in Nitra, in which she applied the basic principles of the CLIL methodology.

The CLIL methodology supports the acquisition of knowledge in a non-language subject through a foreign language and represents a form of bilingual education.

In addition to lecturers from KLIŠ and teachers of the primary school Škultétyho, foreign partners from primary schools in Spain, Portugal and Turkey, who cooperated in the project “Hands on CLIL” within the Erasmus+ program, also took part in classes and subsequent discussions.

The model class on CLIL was conducted in the framework of the dissemination and exchange of experience gained in the Erasmus+ project (Transnational Exchange of Good CLIL Practice among European Educational Institutions) coordinated by PaedDr. Jana Luprichová, PhD.
