Staff and students of the Department of Language Pedagogy and Intercultural Studies (KLIŠ), Faculty of Education, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra on March 14th 2018 in Karol Kmeťka Regional Library in Nitra, met students of secondary grammar schools Párovská 1 and the secondary grammar school on Golianova Street. The purpose of the event was to provide the students with more information about the possibilities of studying at KLIŠ, as well as the perspectives of the graduates of the study programmes English language and literature and English language and culture. At the meeting students of grammar schools discussed with Mgr. Elena Kováčiková, PhD. about the qualities of an ideal English teacher. In the second part of the event, the students were given the opportunity to see the performance of the theatre group, led by PhDr. Zuzana Tabačková, PhD. The Master’s students of the teacher training programme “English language and literature” and of the programme “English language and culture” from KLIŠ presented their dramatization of Revolting Rhymes by the prominent British writer Roald Dahl. The meeting is to be understood not only in the context of the promotion of the department and the faculty, but also as the connection of the future teachers of English language and literature with pedagogical practice.
