KLIŠMAS at PF UKF in Nitra

The students of Nitra secondary schools celebrated St. Nicholas Day at the Department of Language Pedagogy and Intercultural Studies. The 3rd year bachelor students and the 1st year master’s students of the Department of Language Pedagogy and Intercultural Studies (KLIŠ) of Faculty of Education of  Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra organised a socio-cultural event called Klišmas (KLIŠ + Christmas) on  6 December 2016, during which also welcomed students from several secondary schools in Nitra.

After the programme, which consisted of dancing and singing performances, the students of grammar schools at Párovská and Golianova Street could join in interactive Christmas tasks to test their English communication skills. After all the tasks were completed, attractive prizes were available for the participants, including the Christmas raffle.

Since the Department of Language Pedagogy and Intercultural Studies is training future teachers of English language and literature, the cooperation with primary and secondary schools in Nitra and its vicinity plays a role of particular importance to the department. In addition, the department hosted similar events in the past as well, when it presented Anglophone cultural holidays such as St. Patrick’s Day and Halloween to pupils and students of Nitra primary and secondary schools.
