On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the Faculty of Education was bustling with activity. In the morning, we had the pleasure of welcoming David Fisher, the founder and a key member of The Bear Theatre, an educational theatre based in Prague. David and his colleagues delivered two engaging performances that humorously and interactively highlighted significant milestones in the history of the United Kingdom. The first performance took place in the large hall of the Department of Music, where eighth-grade students from Tulipánová 1 Elementary School in Nitra were in attendance. The second performance was enjoyed by high school students from both the “Stredná zdravotnícka škola and Súkromná obchodná akadémia” in Nitra.
Following the performances, we provided our young guests with a tour of the Faculty of Education. Colleagues from the University Library explained the various resources available to them, including registration, book borrowing, and access to our inviting study spaces. Additionally, the students expressed interest in participating in a workshop at the Department of Fine Arts and Education, which was met with enthusiastic participation from the high school attendees.
In the afternoon, visitors were welcomed by spooky decorations at the entrance of the main building. However, we did not fully kick off “Kajkloween” until after David Fisher’s workshop, where he shared his experiences and demonstrated how to incorporate dramatic techniques into the teaching process. Following the workshop, teachers and doctoral students from the Department of English Language and Culture prepared refreshments and organized fun team games for the students. As the sun set, everyone enjoyed some fragrant popcorn while watching the Halloween classic, The Addams Family. We would like to thank all the students, especially those wearing amazing and creative masks, for their participation!
